"If we told you we could get you a pair of
designer sunglasses at 30 percent off retail, youd probably say, "Whats
the catch?" The catch is you have to buy them over the Internet, as we did a couple
of weeks ago....
...Earlier this month, we bought two pairs of Ray
Ban predator 9 sunglasses (model number W2967) from two randomly selected Web sites"
( ___________ and Ultimate Shades). "We paid
$71.95 and $69.95, respectively, for sunglasses that would have cost more than $100 each
at Sunglass Hut. The sunglasses looked like the real thing, but just to be sure we sent
them off to Bausch & Lomb, and the Rochester, NY firm confirmed their authenticity....
....How can you tell
an authentic pair of Ray Bans? Before sending them, we noticed some distinctive tiny
"BL" markings on the lens, as well as codes along the temple or sidepieces of
the frame...."
